So I was thinking that it would be fun to throw out a thought to you guys and see what you think about stuff. So what I am going to try and do is on a weekly basis throw out a question and see if you guys have any good answeres for them. The deal is that I will try to each week pick the answer I like best and give a prize to that person. So lets give this a try and you post your answer in the comments area on this webpage.
Have you ever wondered why when you send a package by land it is called a shipment and when you send a package by sea it is called cargo? What do you think?

It's like one of those things like "You park in the driveway, but you drive in the parkway." People mess up on sayings, and what not.
Well, I'm not sure why I hadn't really thought about it. But I guess you could say that a cargo could be like a car so it should be that mail by car is called cargo.
well there is and exsample of a person who dont know there land from Sea!!.....but maybe there is a really good exsplanation!!
The first thing off of my mind about this question was that other things shiped by boat is called cargo, so it's no wonder that a package shiped by boat is called cargo. I'm not so sure about why somthing mailed by truck is called a shipment.
